Problems using Chromecast

The following is intended to help resolve problems playing STARZ content with Chromecast.

Things to check

  • Cast from the STARZ app. Do not use mirroring or the Google Cast app.
  • Check that the starting device is on the same Wi-Fi network as the Chromecast device.
  • Verify the Google Cast Enabled app is the latest version.
  • Verify Google Play Service is the latest version.
  • Check for conflicting apps, like task killers, firewalls, antivirus, sleep, power savers, or parental controls.
  • Ensure the Chromecast device name does not match the names of other devices on the network.

 Troubleshooting

  • Try plugging the Chromecast into a different HDMI port to see if the issue continues.
  • Reboot your wireless router, starting device, and Chromecast
  • Try other titles (if the issue is isolated to a specific title, please let us know).
