How do I fix a playback error?

This is a general error message when trying to play STARZ content. There could be several reasons for receiving this error. However, we recommend trying these steps:

  • Clear the STARZ app
    • Log out of the STARZ app
    • Clear the device cache
    • Reboot the device
    • Log back into the STARZ app
  • Check your system
    • Verify that there are no updates for the STARZ app
    • Verify that there are no updates for the device's OS
    • Verify the network meets our requirements for download speed
  • Common problems
    • We do not support VPN or proxied network
    • Services can only be accessed in the US
  • Attempt to use a different network
    • Turn off Wi-Fi and attempt playback on cell service
    • Try a different Wi-Fi network
