Closed Captions

STARZ offers close captioning for most titles and alternative language subtitles on select titles. These options can be turned on during playback by selecting the settings icon from the playback menu and selecting a desired option.

Answers to a few common questions

  • Older titles might not have closed captions
  • Many titles do not have alternative language subtitles
  • Subtitles and closed captions might not translate other spoken languages to the selected language (for example, if the viewer is not supposed to know what is being said, the captions will not translate)

Turn on closed captions

  1. Access the video player menu by moving your mouse, tapping your screen, or selecting pause on your remote
  2. Select the gear or options icon in the bottom right of the video player
  3. Options for audio language and subtitles will appear for you to select, depending on the show or movie
  4. Select the desired Audio, CC, or Subtitle Language.
